I also support parents to help you cope with parenting stress and providing you tools to attend to your child most effectively and appropriately to help your child become successful as possible. • Changing old behavior patterns and developing new ones

  • Discovering new ways to solve problems in your family

  • Improving your self-esteem and boosting self-confidence

What is play therapy?

Play therapy is a widely accepted, efficient, and practical method to help children with behavioral problems and difficulty handling their emotions. Communicating their feelings in children can be tuft; with play therapy, they can express themselves without feeling overwhelmed; this is an excellent way of communicating and is natural and comfortable for them. Play therapists use space to help children explore and cope with complicated feelings and work through their struggles.

Confidentiality?

Confidentiality is one of the most vital components of the therapy relationship. Everyone needs a safe, comfortable, and nonjudgemental place to share their thoughts and feelings without others knowing. I do not tell anyone else what you or your child talk about in sessions or that you attend therapy.  Parent, you have a right to requests updates about your child's treatment and their progress. I will also collaborate with you on accommodating ways to answer your child, and I might ask you to help your child practice things s/he learns in therapy at home. Any other data that needs to be shared with your child's doctor, teacher, or insurance carrier, I would need writing permission from you before I can release or give an update.

Professional ethics and state laws require the therapists to preserve privacy except for the following situations:

* Assumed past or present abuse or neglect of children, adults, and elders.

* If the therapist has suspicious, the client is seriously in danger of harming themselves or has threatened to harm others.
* If a judge orders the therapist to provide information about the client.

What about medication?

As a counselor, I believe that therapy is helpful for children, adults, and families. I believe therapy is the best place to address behavioral issues and emotional problems, especially in children. In many scenarios, therapy is beneficial, and no additional treatment is required. But, there are times when therapy alone is not enough. In these cases, medication would be the next step; for treatment to be helpful. Most modern medications are safe (even for children), effective, and have minimal side effects.

How much do you charge?

My fee is $65 for a 45–50-minute session. This fee may vary for longer sessions and other sessions, such as family sessions and those with proof of low revenue.

Do I need to have insurance to see you?

I do not take insurance; I am willing to file with your insurance company to help you obtain reimbursement (at your plan's out-of-network rate) for payments you have made. I can also provide you receipts to submit to get reimbursed through your FSA or HSA.

Are you willing and available to speak to my church, school, or community organization?
